The Firm
Aethel Partners LLP is a global private equity, alternative asset management and financial services firm. Headquartered in London, the firm focuses on global opportunistic value strategies and other event-driven situations. Aethel Partners was founded in 2014 by Ricardo Santos Silva and Aba Schubert.

FOUNDERS
Ricardo Santos Silva
Co-Founder
Ricardo is a Portuguese entrepreneur and investor in the financial, technology and mining sectors. He co-founded Aethel Partners, a global private equity, alternative asset management and financial services firm headquartered in London. Ricardo also co-founded Dorae, the physical trade cloud and co-founded Aethel Mining, a multinational mining company. Ricardo received an economics degree from the University of Lisbon.
Aba Schubert
Co-Founder
Aba is an American entrepreneur and investor in the financial, technology and mining sectors. She co-founded Aethel Partners, a global private equity, alternative asset management and financial services firm headquartered in London. Aba also co-founded Dorae, the physical trade cloud and co-founded Aethel Mining, a multinational mining company. Aba received a math degree from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. Aba served as a teaching fellow at Harvard University.

Illiquid strategies: focusing on off-market transactions, where proprietary deal sourcing capabilities give an edge over other funds and Aethel can invest in assets at a significant discount to intrinsic value;
Liquid strategies: deploying best-in-class research and trading strategies to achieve superior risk adjusted returns, while maintaining a flexible liquidity profile; and
Private Equity: funds dedicated to the opportunistic acquisition of assets.

Aethel’s work with corporate and institutional clients is tailored to the needs of its clients’ complex businesses, capital structures and strategies, covering areas such as:
Capital raising: including structuring and introduction of suitable financial partners;
Sovereign advice: relating to institutional maturation, covering matters ranging from strategic transition to planning and building first-tier management information systems;
Mergers, acquisitions and dispositions advice: both in the conventional sense and in the context of higher pressure situations leading to an expedited or otherwise “off-market” transaction; and
Restructurings: including matters such as management and capital restructuring, asset disposition planning and execution and arrangement of financing.
